I am an octo-octogenarian (88) but don't write me off as an old duffer. I am active, healthy and alert, and ready to take on anyone in my decade. I am interested in writing, reading, archaeology (armchair, these days, of course) history and ancestry. Not to mention Computing (big C) which is my main relaxation.
I am a full-time care for my wife, who suffers from chest and mobility problems, cook, housemaid and chauffeur. Our travelling days have long gone, but I have vivid memories of Egypt, China, and some Mediterranean countries. I take an active part in our village activities - church, produce guild, local community, and have written material for our lay-led church services, and songs for the village pantomimes.
In an earlier life I was a quality engineer and personnel manager in a large engineering company - now, alas, defunct, together with much of our manufacturing processes.
My computing time is necessarily limited, but I enjoy visiting sites such as notdeadyet, and those suiting my interests. And you may be wondering where the title of this page comes from. Well, from what I've seen so far, it seems that I could be a father, at least, to many of you members. Indeed, I may be the seniior of seniors. Or have we got a nonogenarian in our ranks?
