But as you project those wonderful days, then you must have lots of singers/songs, in your computer?? (for your "sing a longs") The quality and diction is obvious to us 'oldies' as with the 'Absence' of the Mike ?? Compared with todays 'lollipop' in their mouths?? (no voice power)!!

I was blessed with a good memory, and I only have to hear a particular song and I am taken back to the day/s that I first heard it.

You say about the odern singers and the looy pop stick in their mouths......I entered a singing contest a couple of years ago, and the song I chose to sing was "The Last Farewell" by Roger Whitaker. When the chap in charge offered me a mike I said no thanks, I then got him to just turn the music down a touch. I sang my heart out. I came second,,,that was good enough for me as the previous time I had sang solo was way back in 63 in The Royal Albert Hall. The song I sang back then was "The Lord's Prayer" (Crimond) my Fathers favorite song.

Ah! Chris, The singer and his Song!! --- reminded me on our holidays a few years ago. In karioke ?? I sang to my Eve. "I just called to say I Love you" (James last was our favourite Orchestra) The crowd wanted more, but Eve was embarrassed. Had a few drinks bought (friendly persuasion) but my 'cheeks' must have changed colour. I still have a 'Sing a long' with my computer, but sadly, my voice box is not what it was, lol!!

Now when I first (I mean I had been going out with her for two days) met My Marcia we went to a pub in Criydon for a little drink, and there was one of those Karriokie things going on, now I had never heard of them before. There were pieces of paper on the bar and Marcia picked one up and started writting, I asked her what she was doing, without thinking she said I am going to sing a song....Oh no I thought,,,, anyway her name was called and orf she went, I turned my back and spoke to someone at the bar,,,,,then I stopped and listened to the voice of an angel singing "My Heart will go on" by Celine Dion, I slowly turned to the stage and there stood Marcia singing her little heart out, what a voice. When she finished she got a standing ovation from the whole Pub.

It was Marcia that got me to sing on the occasions that I have sung since, we even sing together "Oh Carol" being our joint favorite, but we change the Oh Carol too Oh Marcie and Oh Chrissie at the right time, people love it when we get up there.

So its my Marcia that my thanks go to for giving me the push to sing once again.

Yes Peonix "Thornton Heath" was my stomping ground 1994-2000. But Marcia was born there. Addiscome.

Thornton Heath!! Just shown Eve --- She was there in Bensham lane but in the earlier years. Those area's around there have a lot to answer for. Addiscome too Clive road, lived in both -- Guess was preparing the way for those yet to come Huh

I lived in Princess Road, in one of the Council flats there. I was the only white person out of 98 families. Moved out to Penge Road South Norwood. Happy days,lol Wink

Chris, You 'naughty pair'?? Eve is quite familiar with those areas, to say the least?? --- Me ?? I actually bought a mirror sailing dingy, from Norwood sometime in the 70s. and had to go somewhere in that area to get my Dual Control Pedals fitted when I became a Driving Instructor. Geez! what a small world we live in. I have actually lived in London, part in The 50s. The 60s. The 70s and The 80s. Came back here to live again, in 1989 and met my Eve:
