A cup of green tea a day could help keep your heart healthy, a study shows.

The drink was found to widen the artery which runs from the shoulder to the elbow by 4 per cent within 30 minutes - reducing the risk of blood clots.

This is a good indicator of improved blood flow around the body, says a report in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation. It is the first time green tea has been shown to have a short-term beneficial effect on the large arteries.

Quite an interesting article, I think I could wind down one cup of green tea a day, I might give it a try.

Green Tea is supposed to be very Good for us ??
We did try it -- But?? Eve did not like it!! She has partially Blocked veins in her legs -Hurts when walking:

I have tried to get her got for it ?? Answer?   NO!!

I used to keep Earl Grey Tea and Lamsamsuchon ?? In stock, but now down to whatever. I prefer very little milk and sometimes, non at all --- strength to taste. ---
For night time, it is mostly "Camomile" for relaxing Roll Eyes

I drink camomile before bed, it really knocks me out, camomile and apple is lovely but again as Mac said it is awful when you first have it and must admit my preference is a good old English, Tesco's own cuppa or a coffee.
Sorry to hear about Eve's veins, it must be painful for her.

How come we seem to 'inherit' aches and pains as we 'grow older'Huh??

Val, green tea is very healthy and thus popular in Germany - but you have to drink at least 9 cups of it daily say our Asian orientated doctors.
You ask were leg, back and wrist ache come from - they come from age and from our having used our legs, our back and wrist our whole life. Every machine is subject to wear and tear and the same seems to be applicable to our body.

I couldn't wash down 6 cups of green tea but according to that article just one has benefits. If we lead a sedentary lifestyle does that mean we don't get much wear and tear so don't ache so much?   I wish....You're right it is wear and tear but no one has ever said it can be painful, they wrap it up as arthritis so make it seem like a disease or illness, when in fact they should say, Val you're wearing out get used to it... Perhaps?? I am very fortunate??  With my 3 main problems, I have No Pain!! -- I fully believe that having taken, Cod Liver Oil capsules for absolutely Decades, that has Helped ?? These problems of mine, have only been with me over the last two years, so I have no complaint?? I Think??

Teri,  As with every piece of Machinery -- Our Bodies need regular Maintenance to try to keep our joints Flexible. Not an Easy Task??  -- I hope the pills I take, keep finding the right place to go Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Val, one of my neighbours said to me twenty years ago "it's not easy to get old" and that's true. As to the pains, there exist good pills to ease them, but they are not at all healthy.
Phoenix, you are right, but some bodies suffer from wear and tear even if they are maintained regularly.
However, each human being is an individual with its own organisme, so what's good for you, must not be good for me!
But Cod Liver Oil is very good, but it tastes terrible!

I must admit I take glucosamine it certainly helps with my wrists. trouble with cod liver oil its good but if you leave them off for a time I find I come down with something awful that won't be shifted, it happened to me in January, I still wasn't back to normal [whatever that is] in April so I don't take the capsules now.Remember the malt and cod liver oil we used to take at school? I loved the malt, couldn't get enough of it.
