Hi folks, there is a new petition on the Downing Street web site put up by myself, care of my group.

It is for a state pensions increase to £250 a week for all single pensioners, with a relevant increase for couples, plus the abolition of the council tax, and abolition of taking pensioners because they have spent their working lives paying income tax.

Please sign the petition, and pass the word.

If anybody reading this knows how to do the neccessary to click on what I have written here, so people can go straight to the petition, please could you sort this out, because I havent a clue.

Having previously gone into The prime Ministere's Petition's and Viewed those submitted -- Do You really believe, that any notice will be taken?? --- Whilst I agree that there should be Ever Increasing Pressure brought on The government for this purpose, at least in an attempt, to show some sort of appreciation, of what The senior's DID for this country?? I believe that 'They' are simply, Waiting for those 'Golden Oldies' to Die off!!

You may be right.  But politically the New Labour Government by taking Labour to " the right", are infact phasing out the state pension as the cornerstone of retirement, in favour of the private pension, hence a continued inflation linked state pension and excessivelly costly means testing.

What really needs to happen is for the younger generations to get involved in this cause, because it effects them too, I am working on this at a local level, as I have been for the past 20 years on behalf of the elderly.

I take it you have signed the petition ?
