Last year I read something from the government stating that all new houses built would have to have at least one parking space to get cars off the roadway overnight -   today I noticed on TV that there is new legislation being prepared which will put an extra tax burden on any householder who has off road parking - -funny eh?  Wonder when they got this idea.   Election time will soon come round.  This lot have had it from me now but also I haven't forgotten that it was a conservative government that stopped the pensions being index linked (thanks Maggie) trouble now is who the heck can I vote for? - not much left is there.  Roll Eyes.

In Germany we have a law that if you build a house you have to have a parking space for each flat in the house.

Homes with car parking space ??  No way!! Just have not got the space to spare!! With 50,000 more homes to be built!! -- Our 'estate' was built just over 20 years ago, plenty cars around then ?? But NO!! Greed came into it and later, it was admitted that Too Many Homes was Built, per Acre?HuhHuh?  There is just NO 'foresight'??  Take The M25. "The Biggest Car park in The World" -----------

Many houses are built with an underground parking space, above all new ones.

If it's a house with 12 or 20 flats or if it's question of some terraced houses, the costs are rather moderate.

That sounds quite good!!  Shame it was not planned here, as some roads are almost blocked, for Essential Services:

I wonder how the tax would affect us , the council don't want to know about our road and car parking couldn't be done on the street there's no room, we could always turn it into gardens.

Since I posted the above message I have found out that we might be getting a £60 rebate (some of us anyway)its all to do with the 10p tax they stole from us pensioners in april.
It only affects the people between the ages of 55 to 65 if they are retired, they are the ones that lost the 10p.
We are then told we wont pay anymore than £10 a month more then before !,dont hold your breath they have a habit of changing their minds !
