hello everyone, I'm Alan and I am not new but it's a long time since I have been on ( so long that I had forgotten my user name and password ) I have been having a bit of a problem with my health for the last few months but now I'm back!! Please, all you smart houses who speak French, don't send any replies in French because my introduction is just about the only French I know and it meand 'this is me here,
About myself:- I am a medically retired prison officer of 23 years service and married with a sentence of 43 years so far ( don't tell Fay that I said that ) with three kids all gone and three grandsons 11, 6 and 4 months. For my sins I am wheelchair bound and have a lot of other health issues.
Why do we have to be penalised for getting older?
We live in West Yorkshire.

You certainly have health problems and I am sorry to hear that, but like I tell my friends you dont get old without having problems, unfortunately. One thing I would ask you to do please, is to print in black ink,I have eyesight problems and find red print very difficult to see. There is a chat room but it is used very little,I am in most nights latish on. I wont be answering you in french, thats for sure, maybe in broad yorkshire. No doubt we will meet gain.

Hi Alan - Welcome to the forum - I'm one of the younger members on here (70) Lol  It a pleasant sort of place to hang out - not too crowded.  Sorry to hear about your health problems, as you say it's an old age thing. I'm active in a few hobbies so I visit a lot of forums, My main interest is metal detecting, I live in the country so I get permission from local farmers to search their land - got quite a selection of interesting items.  I'm also a member of a model boat club and my main interest there is with radio controlled submarines.  I'm also heavily into Country and Western events - I particularly like the various festivals but I also visit local venues where they have live acts performing.  Just in case I get bored at any time I'm also a licenced radio ham (G4VSV) so I can do that from home although I must admit I don't get on the air too often (too busy lol)  Hope you manage to stay with us now - look forward to reading your comments now and then - my given name by the way is Ian.   Hope to see ya around later.

Hello Alan,
sorry to hear that you had health problems. I hope you recovered a little bit. I'm living in Southern Germany and as far as I know the only German in this forum. However, I'm very glad that everybody accepted me here quickly . Sometimes I make some mistakes when writing in English, but nevertheless I hope you'll understand what I want to say.
