Hello William, Now that I definately agree with. Lack of Parental Control!! -- So just how does The problem get Reversed?? -- The Parents cannot 'administer' any punishment, for any 'misdemeanors'?? The Children can go for Prosecuting, their parents?? -- Consequently, The Ball is in the 'Youngsters Court'
nothing can be altered be 'sweet talk' - There must be a deterent, severe enough to warrant 'I Must Not Misbehave' ::)It is with no doubt, that Disipline and punishment, should be brought back Now!!

One of the problems also is the fact that a lot of parents genuinely believe that their own children are well behaved -and don't smoke, underage drink etc etc - sadly the true fact is that a lot of children do not act at all in the way their parents believe. Kids
do
get pressure from their peers and when they're out with a group they often act in a way their parents wouldn't believe - but I don't know what the answer is - I don't think youth has changed much over the years, however, in our younger days there was no drug problem on the scale of today - I firmly believe that a lot of the troubles are caused by drug dependence - but I don't know the answer.

Discipline and Responcibility Begins at Home!! Allowing that both parents have to work,It must be 'Rare' that as a Family -- They all meet?? --- No one 'forces' this young generation to take drugs, and create the problems they do??
Such as 'Disturbing and Upsetting' other, Innocent persons who may well become ----- Victims!!
It may well be there is No Positive answer or even a Deterent?? So meanwhile?? The 'situation can only get Worse??

Where can I find a younger person's forum ? I want to talk to them about how elderly people are treated, and find out what they think.

Michael I don't know where you can find such a forum, but I'm giving private lessons and my pupils are between 11 and 19 years old and I always had young collegues. You ask how elderly people are treated - in Germany it depends on the elderly people. You know someone being 60 in age can be in mind already 80 and vice versa. As to my young collegues I can only say that we got well on. However, as everywhere I think it's depending on the example parents give.
Naturally, if you take the bus or train in Germany, no young boy or girl will get up and offer you his/her place. They tell you that they have paid the same amount for taking it than you - but I think that's due to the antiautoritan education of our youngsters.
Phoenix, you ask how it is possible that children behave well when both parents are working. I think it depends on the parents - even if they both work they still have time to listen to the problems of their children and that is, as far as I know the problem. Parents nowadays have their own problems and no time and inclination to listen to the problems of their children.

Granted!! Today's parents, do have problems that'differed' from our's when we was in our 30s. - This is relative to the High costs of mortgages, food and services and not all the young, help in supporting their parents?? Othere's tend to ignor any advice from their parents and want to go their own way?? Famies are not as close Today!!
Michael,There must be lots of Young people's forums. I don't know any, but I wish You Luck and trust, some will converse??

I'm not sure whether young people forums are interested in mummies like us, one of the favourite expressions of my children when they were a bit younger "the mummy express" is arriving when the birthday guests of my aunt arrived.

The point of issue here is! Are the younger generation, really interested in the living standards of Today ??
Are they interested in 'learning' from the 'elderly' ??
Are they concerned about 'their' future ??
Do they feel the government should look after them??
Do they understand what a Pension is for ??
The 'attitude' that some 'project' is, absolutely Not!!

When you are young you just repress old age - there are such a lot of new and more interesting things - you are always busy and always on the "search" - you don't want to miss anything. When you have reached our age you realise that only few things in live are absolutely necessary and that you are seldom missing something.

Hello Teri, When 'we' where young and Working, there was a wonderful challenge about life -- The fun and excitement of progression!! Old age was in The future and we was too busy. There was Standards, Disipline and Respect all sadly missing now. We were 'achievers' and proud!! ----
For the young of today?? I am not really sure, just what there is for them, Now and in the Future!! -- Except, being Bored!!
