Hello William, Hum!! With no real 'system' working correctly, as one expects with 'Progress'??
Correct there, not all 'Teens' are bad, just those few 'rotten apples'!! -- Not sure about our change of lifestyle, except that it is much more - Sedate??

I have just come back from church, where the youth did the service, and it was excellent too.
My faith is restored in the younger generation once again especially as two of them got up a ladder to change light bulbs that are at least 50ft high !!!! one of them being the lad that is going to Afghanistan next week !

Young people what an interesting topic. There are good ones and bad ones. However, many German teens are spoilt.
When I was young, young people got up when there were no free seats left in the bus or train and a senior citizen entered - today they no longer do - their reply: We have paid the same fare as the senior citizen.

Some, will not even 'hold open' the doors of Shops, for elderly people, even if they do have walking sticks??
Why do some have such bad manners??

We were taught stand up for someone older than yourself, pregnant women and pensioners, the children dont know this now because their parents are not with them and if they were, would they tell them to stand ?
Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother when asked what can you give a child.............she answered "good manners" !

When I was young, we always called older men MR, nowadays it is all first names, a lot of young people today call thier mother by her first name, it makes me cringe.

You and ME Both!! The day's of set Standards!! I absolutely loath the use of christian names, as companies and shops do. So 'cheapening'?? If one needs to make a note, then one has to ask for their 'surname'-- have you noticed, how 'they' look at you wondering just why ??
What happened to all the -- Smith's -- Brown's and Jones ??

The Grass may well be 'greener' untill one looks closer to the change of living there ?? --- i.e. Nothing like one's own rear garden!! -- Oh! Yer! Don't forget to Water and Feed the Lawns ?? - Ah!! The smell of new mown grass ??
s'lovelly!! -- Don't forget to 'clean' the mower Before putting it away?? -- Nearly forgot that!!

I am not sure Teri whether the grass is greener or not,all I know is they dont stand for any messing about like we do,the Ozzies say "if you dont like it go home" most settle in and the ones that came back are sorry soon after they arrive back home..................and back they go some of them anyway.
My cousin lives there he went on a £10 passage in 1970 and every time he comes home (every 2 years) he is dismayed at it all and the way it has changed. We are somewhat of a joke to them because we are so soft. There is no way he would come back here.
