What a nice discussion about potatoes. Here in Germany we have such a variety of potatoes, Heidekartoffel, Sieglinde, potatoes for salad, mashed potatoes etc. Sometimes it's really difficult to find the right potatoes that taste good, too.
However, since I've been to Egypt I would never buy potatoes coming from this country - the water of the Nile that's used for rinsing the fields is so polluted.

I too have been to Egypt Teri in 1999
I loved it !!! it was a very hectic holiday though
we did it all in 10 days, from Cairo to Aswan dam and it included 3 flights while there.
I agree with the Nile, none too clean.
But we can say we have seen one of the seven wonders of the world.........the pyramids
The other wonder to me was..........wasnt Tut small !!! Shocked

Mac you are right - Egypt, i.e. the pyramides, valley of the tombs of the kings etc. was wonderful. I made a cruise on the Nile, then I went to Hurghada by bus and from Hurghada by bus to Cairo and back, but as 90 % of the visitors I got ill - the food didn't agree with me and the water of the Nile that's used for rinsing the fields is really polluted - so Egypt is for me a wonderful memory, but I doubt whether I will spend my holidays there again in the near future. For Germans holidays in Egypt are really very cheap compared to holidays in other countries, so it would really be attractive.
