I hope you all "glided" smoothly into the New Year. Germany is covered by ice and partly by snow. In Magdeburg where I was it snowed in the night of New Year's Eve to New Year and the new year started with a perfect winter landscape.

No Mac, it's fantastic if you wear warm clothes, the sun is shining, the snow is glittering and the air is smelling fresh. Moreover it's so good for your health.
Formerly we used to have much snow and winter landscapes and drinking a hot cup of tea after having walked in the "winter wonder forest" was really great. However, in the last days it's either chilly or raining and we have only snow or to be correct slush for a few days. The only thing I don't like since I'm retired is that I have to get up early to shovel the snow from the pavement, as the pavements have to be clean at 7 a.m. in Germany on workdays.

Hi Teri,  What a lovelly Picture you have 'painted 'for us.
Looking from the inside. As Mac, is suggesting, one has to be very carefull, if one has 'Brittle Bones' in case of a fall. --- Pavements Cleared of Snow, before 7.00am.
Seems Early?? -- Decades Ago?/ Many of us actually did that, out of Respect for othere's?? Now, I doubt that many people will. Here in east anglia, we have yet to receive any Snow -- But are told it is on the way??
