this is a photo of the "shooting post " at Poperinge  Belgium. It is where deserters were executed during WW1. Sad part is so many appeared to be suffering from shell shock. We also visited the cells they were kept in the night before their execution.Makes you think.

it is very very sad Betty, we lost enough young men by enemy action shooting our own.

In WW2, Germany was the first to accept 'shell shock' for it's soldiers!! -- Britain put it down to 'Cowardice'??
 I am not sure IF those soldiers then Shot, have yet been Pardoned??
