You can go for a walk with your new "wheeler" - that will certainly be great!

Teri, You are so right. We went shopping this morning and I just had my walking stick --Phew!! I noted some people gave me a rather 'wide' berth. I should have taken the walker?? It really Is, so much Easier!! -- In myself, I feel OK!! but as soon as i get walking?? I sure know it Roll Eyes
I think that if I have The walker when out,the word 'Disability' creeps into my mind and i don't want to feel that. I sure am confused though:

Phoenix, I fully understand your feelings, our generation still has the impression to have a handicap is a shame. However, if we are honest, we must admit that the majority of the senior citizens has the one or other - more or less visisble - handicap. And I think we should be proud that - even inspite of our handicaps - we are still so active.
What I personnally appreciate most in the so-called "third age" is that we mustn't any longer prove ourselfes that we can achieve something. We already have shown it!

I think you are being a little unfair not all youngsters are on benifits, though I know some are losing their jobs through this recession and have very little chance of getting another and so are forced to claim benefits to live.
