They often meet and have enough possibilities of exchanging ideas.
No, to be serious, of course, it is not fair, but all countries that changed to the Euro have the same problem and nobody can find out who is profiting of it.

But who profits of the difference in price, our farmers say they don't get it, the retail traders say they neither get it - so who gets it?

Hi Terri, our supermarkets make millions, a lot of it at the expense of the farmers. Two supermarkets have admitted to fixing the price of milk, making millions in the process. now i understand they are to be fined a few millions. At the same time some farmers have had to go out of business, now the suppliers of milk are in short supply and the supermarkets are having to pay a decent price for their milk.

In Germany they say they had to considerably increase the prices of dairy products (milk, cheese etc.) because the Asians, above all the Chinese have discovered their love for them and there's a shortage now in our country.
Isn't that crazy?

I know how you feel Terri, we have a situation here whereby immigrants receive state handouts to help them settle when our own people in need cant get it.
I s there any wonder we feel ambittered towards them.

Thats not strictly true Pheonix, everybody has human rights. I was OIC of a local authority home for the elderly for 15 years and I can assure you thier comfort and welfare came first. What we read in the papers is all doom and gloom, not the good sid e side of life

I think what phoenix means by human rights is :
we got the patients up at between 6&7am.........why ?
and they were fed a certain time why ?
and they were put to bed by a certain time ..why
the prisoners dont have to do that do they ?
some of the patients didnt want to get up at that time but they have to !
I am sure they had the patients best interest at heart ........but was it really in their interest or the staffs timetable ?

There has been so much Printed about 'Residential Homes' and Their patients - and Staff!! It is hard to actually believe, What is The Truth?? -- Patients!! Are Human, and should be treated as such!! Let us Remember?? The same Standards, Are certainly NOT applied the same in Every 'Home'!! -- What Used To Be!! Is not neccessarily, The same as currently implemented!! -- This Information, comes from another person, In a Higher position and has due relevancy, to Residential homes and The Quality if Care and Attention, 'they' Receive: -- Consider the 'stress' that the Staff, 'receive' -- Is it any wonder that some Patients, -- Are Given Drugs, to make Sleepy?

the only time you read about residential homes is when some misdemeanour has been commited, for every one of these there are hundres of home provding compassion and a high degree of care. Prisoners are a different kettle of fish Mac, they are by and large able bodied, they can wash, dress and feed themselves.
In homes alot of residents are confused, inontinent, disbled in some form and so require a lot more attention.
I cant speak for other homes, but in my home, able residents were allowed to go to bed, get up go out to the shops, pub, church when they wanted. Staffing levels were woefully low. I could go on all night but I wont.

Hi Will
your home sounds more like a residential home than a nursing home, which is what I used to work in.Of course some homes cater for both.
I kid you not Will when I say some of them are bad and on more than pne occassion I have reported them.
Like you I could go on all night but I wont.
