We saw a delightful little snippet on the Travel channel the other day which made us quite homesick. There was this chap in his wellies and a jacket, along with his dog, walking across some beautiful English countryside. HIs comments were simply that if you want soft green countryside you have to have rain. If you want sunshine every day the ground will be dry and dusty, hard under your feet and like walkin on sandpaper. Well, that is us right now, the frosts are here every morning and the garden and lawns are all brown. I can't remember when I last saw a puddle!!

John, I just returned from a holiday in Wales and to be honest the landscape there is really fantastic and "green", but no wonder with that weather! We only had two and a half day of sunshine, the other days it was either cloudy or it rained! True, we in Southern Germany are a bit spoilt at the moment,we have a lot of sunshine and not too much rain. The first day I was at home it rained but since Wednesday we have bright sunshine every day and that lifts really the spirits!!!

Hi all. It is strange here at this time of year that we have clear blue skies every day and it is freezing!!! The trikes??? WE have put those on hold for now and are busy disposing of things, selling what we can, giving stuff away and throwing stuff out. Isn't it funny how you can almost guard things in case you might need them one day and in a second you can throw them away. The house is up for sale with the boards outside so who knows, we might just get a buyer. Evidently the market is picking up again, a combination of people trying to get out of these dreadful little "townhouses" that make a mid terrace in England seem like a mansion, and the desire for more security. We will see. I suppose I shall have to learn a Wiltshire accent again along with all the Benefits rules, which I believe are almost as involved as the rules of golf!!
Happy days, and have a good weekend
