I've decided this is who I am going to be! Let me explain. Read a letter in the mail this morning from a visa consultant who is very worried, as we all are about immigration. As he says the people who are arriving and being allowed to stay are not skilled workers therefore do not help our economy but burden our health scheme. benefits etc. The most worrying thing is that he states that in the last 7 months there has been an 80% increase in british subjects applying for visas to live and work abroad. We will sink without trace. So I am a WASP, ie. white anglo-saxon-person who has no intention of deserting britain and if that makes me racicst so be it.

phoenix, how did I know you would agree with me!! I just hope nobody thinks this is racially motivated I'm just concerned at what my granchildren have got to look forward to.I'm so glad that we live in north essex and not Ilford where OH and I grew up as the shootings and so called " honour " killings seem to be a way of life.I know we must move forward but I don't think its always for the best.

Ok for the few ignarent people who post on this site I will give give you a small History Lesson.

Anglo - Saxons is a collective names for Germanic peoples who emmigrated to this Island from mainly netherlands and norway. These Anglo Saxons were Pagan and worshipped idols.

So are you saying that you are white European pagans and if so what are you doing over here you should be over the sea if you go by your theory lol.

It took the irish missionaries to turn these pagans to christianity (by the attitude of a few they don't seem to have done a very good job, lol theres still a few pagan's left.

No one group of people own this land we are all immigrants from somewhere if we were to search far enough back in our ancestry.

So if you are meaning that W.A.S.P stands for white English  and say that you own this land then you really are ignorant. There are many black people who were born in England and have a British Passport you are now denying there equal birthright to this land.

On your point about non skilled workers moving here those are the type we need the most, our farmers are desperate for agricultural workers and so is the catering trade, most hotel's nowadays employ European workers because they are very hard working. So many are leaving school and want to work in the IT industry or do office work and good luck to them , but someone needs to serve at tables or pick fruit in the field.

At this point i would just like to add that though I like this site very much and i think a lot of effort and hard work has gone into it I can't just sit back and let a couple of Racist's ( yes I did call you that, because if you say that you support what the implication of the Term W.A.S.P imply's then that is what you are RASCIST's and you should be named and shamed and your no better than the pagan's who were know as Anglo Saxon's.

So If Maurice wants to remove me from this site that is his decision but while i'm here I will disown myself of anyone who supports this thread.

I am in total aggreement with what Mac says, you can't blame the immigrants for wanting to better themselves, they are not to blame, I also aggree that the government needs to set up a better immigration policy than what it has. But I suspect that behind it all someone is making a lot of money out of this movement of migrent workers and thats why its allowed to happen. A few years ago I worked for around 8 months in a Jobcentre during that time we had no difficulty with finding work for migrent  workers they would work on the land or in food packing plants they would take any work available, the problem for us was with some Brits who with 3 or 4 kids who wouldnt work for less than £300 a week because they would be worse off than on benefit.
Before folks start branding words like W.A.S.P around they  need to check there facts.
