Hello Tina, Thank you for reminding me about the Sheringham to Holt, Steam Train rides. Have to be a must this year. Need to get out and Go, when the sun allows and as norfolk is on the doorstep, we have no excuse. Thanks!!

This weekend, there are Diesel locomotives, at the 'nene valley railway' not sure whether to go, as cannot understand the diesel interest ?? A lot of people are expected to come from quite a distance, so must be something to them.

I think the youngsters of today have realised that they live in a surgical world, and when they hear of the Steam Trains (all way before their time) they want to be part of what the old folk talk about.

I was standing on the Station at Hastings the other week and a steam train came through unannounced. All normal train services ad been delayed for this wonderful beast to pass through so the platforms were packed with angry passengers. Then out of the blue came the Beast, smoke and steam hissing all over the place, the Chuff Chuff of the engine, the sight of the man on the foot plate leaning out waving to them on the station. The anger of the waiting crouds changed to Awwwwww Ohhhhhh did you see this and that, the whole mood of eveyone changed.

I bet they are still talking about it today. Smiley

I am quite suprised of how many Steam Train Railroads there are now. getting more popular and more support.
That tells us something HuhHuh ----  Should I suggest, Bring back Steam, and Trains running on Time, as well as reasonable Ticket Prices ??   Food for Thougth HuhHuh?
Someone no doubt, would complain of their clothes getting dirty --- We Never did !!

Back in the days of steam Pheonix we only wore grey, black clothes so the dirt wouldnt have shown up.

My first five years of life were spent living right next to a railway line, we all had grubby faces etc, but nobody ever worried about it as we were all the same. Kids dont know they are alive, lol.

The most important thing was ---   Everybody was Happy!!
Not so with today (which is understandable) -- At least one can try to spread a little happiness, even if not successful ??
