Hi Mac,  It is quite on the cards, that the Cash for The Museum, really did come from The lottery (peoples money)and that is just the type of thing that Lottery money would go to!! -- They never have Given any money to The Lifeboat Men, or The mountain Rescuers??

Yes, there are some good young people out there, who want to get together and make a Home, yet cannot afford to do that.-- Two of our grandchildren want to have a home, with their partners. What chance do they have, as with very many othere's -- Great Difficulty! Little Real Chance?

Some of you might not like this but I have to say it

Yet another sickening incident has happened, and you have to ask "What has the father of 3 died for",all he did was confront the youths that were causing damage to his car,
and they kicked his head in !
the culprits may be imprisoned but no doubt will have their sentences cut after a time on good behaviour or human rights grounds.
Little consolation for his wife who has lost her husband and 3 children who have lost their dad.
Its about time we stopped pussy-footying around in this country and started handing out real sentences to protect the british public!!!!!
The only place I can see this happening is in the forces,if they bring back national service where they can learn to behave and admire and respect others around them !
sorry I had to get that off my chest

The problem as I see it is quite complex. firstly It's down to lack of disciple in the schools and in the home. What a 15 or 16 year old does should be the responsibility of the parent's, but with parents working or single parent families as long as they are out of there site they don't care what they get up to. Secondly it's the lack of police on the ground allows youngsters to get up to trouble if there were more police around it wouldn't happen. Drink is another problem they congregate on parks drinking then go looking for trouble and again there is no authority to stop them. Unless more money is poored into the problem of dealing with youngsters on the street it will get worse..but the money will not be made available because it would cost us all and them folks would complain lol.

the answer is make Parents more accountable.
Stop under age drinking.
provide more policing in problem areas.
and make it Zero Tollerence when they are court.

In lincolnshire they are closing down courts to save money, wheres the sense in that.

i am in contact with a lady site owner in...Florida.
she says that if a burglar is confronted, armed with
a weapon, and agressive...... the owner or tenant is
allowed to shoot that person dead.... and the courts
would agree.............. they would not be charged.

This brings to mind the guy who`s burglar fell off the window, and died, the police took the guy in to make sure he didnt push him
I have to say I would have pushed someone who was trying to get into my property
Surely what is your is yours !

Hi to all from John and Jacqui in South Africa, where we have been since leaving England in the '60's when England was a very grey and dismal place. On the all too infrequent visits that we have made in the past 40 years we have seen England grow and improve enormously, and although crime has become a problem it is no more so than anywhere else in the world. We should be grateful that the police are committed to fighting the problem and that the government is prepared to put money into solving the problem. I suppose any welfare system will be abused but that does not make it any less esssential for those genuinely in need. We have had friends here who have been forced to return to Britain through misfortune or fraud and they have been able to pick up their lives again, thanks to the systems that are in place there for the benefit of those in need.

We are hoping to return to England within the next year and are very pleased that a strong and committed government is in place that takes care of the needs of the people... there are many countries where that is simply not the case. Thanks to Sky News we are able to see Britain as it is and have no illusions that it is Utopia, but we can think of no better place to live, in spite of the faults.  Rule Brittania!!!
