Seperate Fun Stuff from General Discussion

Whenever I'm online I notice theres a number of guests on the site, like me these guests are likely to be over 50s looking for somewhere to air there views or join in other discussions.
Most days when I log on to general Discussion the first posts i see are Word Association, One Word Story, Wheres my song title and other fun Stuff. I realise that these topics are very popular with the regulars (in a 30 minute period these topics can have countless hits and give great pleasure, but they also push general discussions out of the spotlight.
First impressions count a lot when people surf the web and there are some very good topics covered by folks on this sight
So my suggestion is that a seperate area be created on the forum just for FUN stuff = Jokes and games etc..thus freeing up space in the general discussion area for just what it says discussion.
I'm sure we will attract more new members that way

Hello Skeggy, Great suggestion of your's. As I personally am not into games, I think a good discussion is, not only giving one's own opinion, but also of learning and enjoing conversation:

I am all for that -- but the problem is no one reads or bothers to post on the fun and jokes stuff --take a look yourself at my latest efforts to get people to do exactly what you are suggesting !

Yes I aggree its hard to get folks to post in the appropriate area, but its very important, often when i log on i miss posts because they have been pushed out of the main page by word association type hits.. depending on the time of day a post may have been removed from top spot to 10th in line in just 5 minutes, trouble is that may put some folks off posting on the site if they think i wont get noticed.
The only other way to do it is for admin to move fun stuff threads out of General Discussion into Fun stuff forum till folks get used to it , but i appreciate that makes more work for admin

Hello Skeggy, Sounds like a great Idea, to keep 'Fun Stuff' and general discussion posts seperate. Hope many more will join in:

Delighted to see other Topics for 'conversation' brought in to give more variation for Members and to hopefully, coax some guests into membership.
