i once met a girl name maria !
i went to our evacee club last week...and a lady came and
sat down beside me...as they do...well we got talking and
i asked her "where were you evacated to"......she replied
"austria"...the lady was a german lady married to an army
soldier during the`berlin`air lift.
she was in a place near cologne...and she said that when
the air raid siren sounded..the cat was the first one down
the shelter..we had a nice talk...before our meeting began.
i shall look forward to our next meeting in november.

Hello Mac...most of our school went to a place called
`Pontardawe`.... it was in the news lately...well its
eight miles north of Swansea...Clydach is 3 mile away.
our club was formed by a group of 10 people...9 years
ago. we meet every 2 months...the Welsh people in the
Swansea valley were very kind to us...they took us in.
It was an adventure to us....We went back by coach
45 of us visiting many places were Kent children were
sent....7 years ago...I can see the house where i was
billeted...on the google `Earth`maps...printed it out
too..Good times were had by many of us children..then.
My first girl friend was Welsh `Rachel`... We were 12.

Hello Smiler, Great to see you around and Fabulous, to keep remenising. Keeps one 'young' -- I would love to have a holiday, back in Kent, just to see our past homes.-- Still have their photo's, but guess all has changed:

Hi Mac, Would that we could Both walk, enough to get out for a day ?? -- health will not allow even that. mine is not good and Eve's is a lot worse. We Both just have to make the best of The deal, as to that which we have.
Things could be much worse ??

Hi Phoenix
What a shame as if getting old isnt bad enough without having to stay in all the time.
Round here we have places where you can go for your lunch, they even pick you up,dont you have anything like that ?

Hello Mac, Not sure what there is around here. Guess it's all about pride ?? retaing our independance etc: Not wanting to ask for help etc: Would be good just to have a break from our four walls and get Eve out. Not yet as she is having a very bad time. My Housework is falling behind too. Am not complaining, at least am still getting around
(chuckle) and we do get some laughs -- be it somewhere .

Hi Mac, You sure come out with the Idea's!! I may well give them a try. I am going to try to play Snooker again this Thursday(been asked) nothing to lose except make a hash of it ?? My balance has got worse, so will undoubtedly be 'wobbling' around the table ?? But ?? have got to get out the home. We really do keep on 'smiling' but does get a little hard when dragging around the shops ---- Only. Aged ?? t'is hard to think of us being old, but it's true ??
