I looked at quite a few forums before joining NDY and from what I saw, NDY seemed the friendliest and as a newbie I have found everyone here very nice.

I get the impression that you all know each other and there is a genuine feeling of friendship between you. Is that what NDY is about? If it is, how does that work if NDY expands?

I see that Chris has mentioned that there are now 194 new members waiting to join NDY. I assume that many of them will join once they have been vetted and there are bound to be new members who do not blend in as much as others may do.

I don't mean abusive or bullying posters but rather posters who may have a different viewpoint, may want to discuss different things or might simply have a humour or manner of posting which is not what you are accustomed to.

I hope you won't mind my asking this question. Forums are a new experience for me and I find it quite interesting, how it works and what makes a forum work.

In a nutshell, my question is, as long-term members, what do you want from your forum?

Hello Maegan, NDY is a very friendly forum. The best I have been in, as you may note, I have been a member for over three years now and would not change. I personally consider every member as a friend. True we shall never actually meet, yet maybe that could be a great part of one's interest. We can talk about our good times, as well as our bad times, like our health and stressfull occassions. There is no offence shown in any way. We are as a close family and that is a really good feeling. A Forum is The Members, that is my personal interest and my entertainment and I am Happy. I trust that You will find this too. Hi Phoenix.  Yes, NDY is a friendly site and I can see why it has such a strong core of loyal members.   Smiley

think i want to have somewhere to pass the time of day , and thats what i find in forums , someone to talk to , have a sense of humour and have a laugh with ,  ive got to know some posters on here and they fit in with my views , . As in real life if you dont have the same views as others you stay clear of them ,
Ive seen some forums turn into battlefields , ive seen some members come on and rock the whole foundations because other members have not agreed with them .
If a member as differant views thats ok as long as they dont put pressure on othe members to accept their views  .

The other attraction, as Tilly has pointed out. As members, we post our own opinions and points of views. Sometimes we differ from others, but we can also 'learn' from other members too. There is no dispute, only acceptance. Enjoy.
