Folks enough is enough!!

I have recieved a PM stating that I should not have deleted a certain person from the site.

This complaintant has been invited t contact Maurice and take over the Moderation of the site, I have no objection to this whatsoever.

I have at the moment 173 new members awaiting approval to join the site. I have asked the complaintant what I should do. Allow or Reject! I will await a reply.

As the present Moderator I can tell you this, if the complaintant says allow, then I will have nothing more to do with NDY, (I will of course phone Maurice and let him know what I have said, but I am sure he is not a silly man and has read this post as you have), I will just open all the neccassary boxes up to allow all and sundrie in, as I believe the complaintant wants.

Any comments will be gratefully recieved.

Chris, to  allow all and sundry in would completely and utterly ruin this site.My opinion and advice is to vet them all. I hope you get the support from other members. William

Chris , up untill a few weeks ago this site was ticking over with just us regular ones here and then a few started coming in from another site where they had caused ill feeling ,  and they constantly would go through members post on there  to find something to disagree with , it wasnt long before  one poster tried it on here with one of our members , , if we have any new members they have to be civil with posters that are settled in this site and have no wish to move ,   if they should talk out of term  and cause ill feeling here then they should be banned . I hope you  stay on as moderator , i think you have the experience to carry the site on to better things .

i think some people dont know what moderating is,,,,,,
people join forums as themselves,or join 3 or more times in differant names to start trouble,,a moderator has to go through all the differant isp for members, spot the threats, and take action, some slip through,,,so its not easy.

Hi, can I put my two pennyworth in, if there has been troublesome people  Shocked on here then if they don't want to play the game our way then please kindly leave and shut the door quietly on yur way out. Angry

I have read some sites where there are people who go by weird and stupid pen names and use the filthiest of language, personal and extrememly offensive comments to them go onto a site that welcomes you, I went back into my soap site and the rude comments that were made about me when I was asked by one or two members to leave because I gave away soap storyline secrets have been removed and a couple of posters on there whose contribution to the threads were not very nice have also been removed.

So Chris you do what you feel is best for this site Cool I think you'll find a lot of people behind you giving you support. Kiss

Chris,
I can only echo what the members of our site have said thus far.
I do feel a bit responsible for this state of affairs as it was I who objected most loudly over at least one new persons contribution to any debate.

Multi identities has already been spoken of and I suggest that the only possible reason a person can have for that practice is to cause trouble and generally disrupt the running of the site.

I am at a loss to understand what satisfaction someone would get for being so vindictive but then it is a strange world this internet.

As far as I am concerned Chris you do a great job here and I would not like to see that change at all, I fully support everything you have done and hopefully will continue to do in the future.

I think we have to trust the moderator(s) to use their experience and discretion to decide which posters are genuinely wanting to join in the spirit of the forum and which merely want to upset other members.

A forum needs members so I guess the decision to ban someone is not taken lightly.

But sometimes it is the more controversial subjects which get the most response and keep forums alive so, I just wonder, what is it that makes a poster or subject "troublesome"?

I still await an answer from the complaintant. There at the moment stands 194 people waiting to join this forum.

And as I have already stated,  anyone can write to Maurice and take over the job as Moderator, it isnt a major problem to me.

But in answer to you post Maegan, I have been knocking around forums for 20+ years and it doesnt take long for me to see where the threads are going and who is stirring things up, causing trouble and upsetting loyal members.

There are plenty of sites/ forums where Members can upset each other and abuse each other, if anyone wants to go to them they only have to ask, and I will gladly point them in the right direction.

As you say the decision is hard to ban someone, but I would rather ban one member that is using three different names, but one isp, than see what I concider valued long term Members leave because of that persons statements and posts.

I try to apply my lifes experiences to everything I do, Respect, Discipline, honesty, and live with no regrets. And of course laughter and a good woman beside me!

Hi Chris. I looked at several forums before joining NDY. It was quite an eye-opener.  I had no idea that there were people who would join a group only to argue or bully. The fact that NDY seems not to have or tolerate that sort of behaviour is a credit to you.

I am interested to know what sort of subjects NDY members do like to discuss and as that is a separate question I think I will take your advice and open a new thread  Smiley

In NDY you will find you can talk, and I stress Talk about anything you like, for example if you have a sexual problem you can talk about it, if you have physical problem you can talk about it. here its about talking to each other, not digging each other out. Most of us have been there done it and starred in the video, some have even got the Tee shirt....its okay Pheonix we know its in the wash  Wink

I have just been through all the people that wanted to join this forum (204 in total) and one just one ISP address was repeated 40 times with different e-mail address's. Not one in the 204 managed to get through the net as the majority were sex lines and adverts for such.
