How about when You, was a bigger girl ?? I bet that you too, went dancing in your Dirndyl Skirt or if you did happen to go out to a Dinner/Dance -- Then was the time, to 'Trip the light fantastic' as per Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers.

I didn't have a dirndyl skirt but my Mum did and an 18" waist.
I had mini skirts or pelmets and shift dresses and hot pants, and that was last year.
No seriously I was a 60s teenager and went to art college, black tight trousers no shoes hair passed my waist and jumpers that stretched down to my knees.
Peace man

Guess I was more 'reserved' in the 60s. covering the area of great britain and all of europe, as a machine tool engineer. Mini skirts and hot pants, was not really my scene. I was'nt stiff and starchy, but my shirts were, as I had to change three times a day, to stay smart. The envenings was extra.

Hi Tilly, I have said before that you are an angel. You have again come up with a great site, so have placed on my desktop, to indulge in later. I remember the song "Meet me in St Louis" and the words just came pouring out. I was not really keen on the 'Trolley' song, but Judy Garland, did have an unusual voice. As you know, the 40/50/60s was as I call, my most interesting period of time. The only disappointment, is that I am missing all those 40/ Re enactments that are happening. Am hoping that you can show us some photos: If you are well enough to go to any. Hope too the Alan is keeping well.
