I have never met dogs so nosey, whatever you're doing they are there sniffing it out, when I'm cutting the lawn edges I have to move Lady away, she gets in so close I'm frightened of cutting her with the scissors. They've been locked in the shed a few times, they nip in so quick I don't know they're there, its only because they aren't around you realise.

Val, You have to be kidding us, clipping the lawn Edges with scissors on yer hands and knees. I use a strimmer and turn it upside down, moving slowly to go straight and round the curves. --- perhaps your Dogs think your playing a game and want to Join in. Grin Grin Grin

Grin Grin yes I do get down and cut the edges with scissors. I've got a strimmer but won't use it. My garden is quite wild, not neat and if I use a strimmer I might get something thats there, a frog or young bird.Lady is after me throwing stones for her thats why she pokes her nose in. I love to get down and in the plants they smell lovely, I've got some lemon thyme growing round one of the bird baths and the smell from that is wonderful, especially when its been in the sun. I just love the garden.

Got the compost from B&Q's, planted up some of the raised bed, toms ,cucumber and sweetcorn are out and have survived the night. I put some water out the front for the birds, I've got a few bird baths in the back garden but nothing out the front. I'm a bit worried about the cats there but I've put it by the flower pots and its quite open so they should see any thats coming.

Took a bit of a chance and potted up some hanging baskets today, if the weather turns back again I can always put them in the garage for a while.
Had a good result with some Bacopa last year so trying another this.

I've put in summer bedding so it had better not turn bad, although I did hear next week is going to be on the turn again. I hope not our Sarah has got a parachute jump and its her first. She's a bit scared but excited.

She will love the experience, it is all over far too quickly. I bet as soon as she gets down she will want to get back up and do it all again.
Great stuff, lots of luck to her.

Val, Don't worry, Sarah will be well looked after.
Confession to make ?? had an arkward bit of the garden this morning. An area under our tree, that had lots of grass growing through the stone covering(weed control mat under) the result of Birds, feeding from the seed hangers. SO, as we have "Logroll" edging - yours truly, was on hands and knees 'wiv me scissors' removing the grass etc; etc; a long and slow job. er? yes, Eve had to help me get up again, so I received a 'ticking off for getting in that position.

You need to get yourself one of those tall kneelers, you can lean on the sides to help yourself up.My neighbour is very fussy about his lawn, he's always out there getting it perfect, He uses scissors as well to get that precision edging, I think a lot of people do but for different reasons.
I got some barley straw for putting round the strawberries and in the pond to stop it turning green. I had some left over and put it in an empty hanging basket, the birds have been flying off with beak fulls, its so lovely to see and its good to know I help them nest.

A tall kneeler seems a good idea, but if you prefer to 'get down to it' it's a hands and knees job. Got a nother 'circle of log rolls' that is calling for a snip. I shall be thinking of you when I start.  Grin   As I have never 'got down ' before.  Shocked Shocked

You can still get down, here's a link that shows you what they're like, but I'm sure B&Q's or homebase will sell them too.

Oh its perfect down amongst the plants and grass. I often forget what I'm doing and just sit and stare. The birds carry on as if you're not there and many times we've startled each other when one has got rather close.
