Gordon Brown will settle today on March 24 as the day for the pre-election Budget as the campaign accelerates towards a May 6 showdown.

The Prime Minister will also place his stewardship of the economy at the heart of his election drive. Despite overseeing the longest and deepest recession since the Second World War, he will argue that, whereas Labour would secure the recovery, an incoming Conservative government would put it in jeopardy.

Wonder what treats he has in store for us.

Well at least when you're down there's only one way to go, we must start feeling positive about this country otherwise it could go badly wrong, more so than it is already.

It is hard to feel positive here these days though.
How did we ever get into this state? It seems to me that everyone in any business has lost the will to live.
For example, I know I cannot do the things that once was second nature and have to get people in.
I need a lot of stuff doing but in truth no one wants to work.
If you get a quote they price it so high as to be stupid, then they only want to do what they think you need.

Blessed is the man who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed, especially if he supports West Ham United FC.

I think people here have started to get a bit scared. The quotes we've had are very reasonable and they are falling over themselves for a bit of work. They are asking my lad if he's got any work, these are the same people who sucked in their breath and said they wouldn't get out of bed for what he works for. They are now in bed all day if they want with no money.Seans boss laid off half of his workforce but thankfully kept him on and have managed to secure a couple of big projects for this year. It seems to be all hand to mouth now.
You need a handy man George , have the AA started their handyman scheme yet? that would suit you.
