My wife is reading Jeffrey Archer's 'Cain and Able' to us both as bedtime entertainment, which we are about to finish.

I am reading through the Enid Blyton's Famous Five Series (I'm up to No.9 'Five Fall Into Adventure') two chapters an evening then I tell a potted version to Sheila before we go off to sleep.

Before I come to bed Sheila is reading Valerie Wood novels.

I am also reading, intermittently, Iain M Banks' science fiction novels (just finished 'The Algabraist' and started 'Against a Dark Background') which my son got me into.

We have lined up to take over from Jeffrey Archer, some Jean Plaidy or Philippa Gregory historical novels.

We also have waiting in the wings five Terry Goodkind fantasy fiction books from the TV series 'Legend of the Seeker.' We've read 'Wizard's First Rule' so far.

Books, we love 'em!!!

There is nothing like having a selection of Good Books lined up to Read !!  Both Eve and I are avid Book Readers and sometimes, have more than one, on the go  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
I would Increase the Font Size, but cannot find how to do it. (only on Emails). I still have a lot of War Books to Read and DVDs. of WW1 and WW2 sets. The time just seems to Fly by??  Although I cannot do any of the normal jobs, because of my feet etc: The day is spent 'mainly' sitting down Roll Eyes Could be too much computer, sending out jokes and political emails etc: plus a little Tv??  to Relax too. Lol!!

Hi all

We finished 'Cain and Able' last night and next we will plough into 'The Revolt of the Eaglets' by Jean Plaidy. It's the 2nd book in the series about the Plantagenets.

We buy our books off eBay and when everyone's finished with it we take them down to a second-hand bookshop in Portsmouth that's run by an old lady.

Dalerite - what non-fiction are you in to? I've read travel books and biographies a lot.

Phoenix - Am I right to say you have books on DVD that are too small to read? What program are they set in?

My all-time two favourite stories are 'Treasure Island' by R.L.Stevenson and 'Forever Amber' by Katheleen Winsor.

One of the most brilliant exploits of ww2 in my opinion was the raid on the hard water plant in norway. This story is well told in Ray Mears book "Heroes of Telemark"A very good read for people  who is intereste in that kind of reading.
The story was told otiginally by one of the Norwegians who took part in the raid but i find Ray Mears book much better.

The film was very good, but like most films they tend to dramatise too much.

A little "Embellishment" to perhaps raise more interest.

Beejay, No, I don't have any books on DVD. The books and DVDs are seperate.

Val, I have the same problem, finding the time to 'share' between work, reading and computer. Where does the day go. there are times when it just seems 'bitty' must be this weather thats getting us down, sure is depressing enough.

You're right Phoenix. It is quiet on here.

Update: We are a third of the way through the Jean Plaidy book and I am on book 11 of the Famous Five series. (Oh! Those memories)

Five on Kirrin island was my first F5 book, although I'd always been a fan of hers.
