THE WHALE WICH DRAGGD THE KEEPER INTO THE POOL IS IN THE NEWS, PERSONALLY I HATE TO SEE CAGED BIRDS AND ANIMALS.I  REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO MALTA, AND SAW ALL THOSE BIRDS IN SMALL WOODEN CAGES FOR SALE, I THOUGHT AT THE TIME I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK AT NIGHT AND LET THEM OUT.
IN THE CASE OF ENDANGERED SPECIES IT IS NECESSARY TO CAGE THEM TO ENSURE THEIR SURVIVAL,BUT THEY ARE THEN RELEASED BACK INTO THE WILD.WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THIS.

I agree Dalerite, I think Zoos in general are horrible places and to cage up great big creatures like the Orca is somewhat barbaric.

I think I am right in saying that the whale used in the Free Willy films died a horrible death after they tried to get him back into the ocean.
I still remember years ago the pathetic sight of Guy the Gorilla at London Zoo
and vowed then never to go back to the place again.

Perhaps wildlife parks are a little better and if we wish to stop wiping out our animals I suppose we have to keep them in captivity.
It is still sad to see though.

I RE3MEMBER IN THE 30S WHEN I WAS A LAT, THE CIRCUS CAME TO THE VILLAGE ONCE A YEAR.THEY USED TO PARADE THRO THE STREETS PRIOR TO OPENING. THE ELEPHANTS WERE ALWAYS IN FRONT FOLLOWED BY WAGONS WITH THE CAGED LIONS,TIGERS,MONKEYS, HORRIBLE,
I BELIEVE NOW THAT ANIMALS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED IN CIRCUSES OR ANY OTHER SHOWS, WHICH IS A STEP IN THE RIGHR DIRECTION.
WE ALSO USED TO GET THE ORGAN GRINDER WITH THE MONKEY SAT ON TOP.

I have never agreed with the caging of any Birds or Animals, on the grounds of Cruelty. If those owners, were to be caged for a period of time Huh The Complaints would be numerous. Even criminals are not caged and possibly deserve that type of treatment, when having Inflicted Bodily Harm. Then listen to the call of "Human Rights"  Roll Eyes
Even that Police officer, that left those Dogs inside his car, in such Terrible Heat, were they Both Died, has not been given any severe penalty. Where is there any Justice.??
