MILLIONS of pensioners will lose an average of ?500 a year in a state pension con trick played by Chancellor Alistair Darling, it emerged last night.

Whitehall figures released yesterday show the Treasury will save ?500million by limiting the scope of a 2.5 per cent increase in payments due to come into force in April.

Angry pensioners have been told the rise will apply only to the basic state pension while the level of other elements of their income, affecting 10million people, will be frozen.

It means some hard-up retired people could be getting around 10 per cent less than previously expected. The revelation of the stealth cut in the state pension provoked fury among campaign

groups and opposition MPs. Neil Duncan-Jordan of the National Pensioners Convention said: ?This is a shabby move by the Government.

?It is also unprecedented. In the past, annual rises have applied to the entire package, not just the basic state pension element. This has been done in an underhand way and has left many pensioners feeling angry.?

Perhaps those 'above' see the "Golden Oldies" as expendable, whilst 'they' not only increase their income, but also purchase second homes and maintenance, at the peoples, expence.  What do you think Huh??

Yep I was persuaded to join the SERPS scam when I was working,  supposedly to enhance my retirement pension - another government trick to get money from folk.  I can see the SERPS payments being eroded over the years.  I'm just sick of lying and cheating PM's - Nothing really changes does it?   I see today it has been revealed that Maggie Thatcher, during her term as PM, told the Sun newspaper  (around 1979) that she had no special dieting regime - it's recently been discovered from an old document in the back of one of her diaries that she was on a special 28 eggs per week special diet.....  Can we trust any of the parties to give the public a fair deal - or are they just in it for their own financial ends?Huh   I know what I think.  Reckon I'll go have an egg for my breakfast now - see if I can slim down a bit LOL.

One thing I have noticed in these last ten years. More of the so 'Top People' Lie, Steal and Cheat. The hardest section of people this 'Hits' is of course "The Senior Citizens" -- Is there more enjoyment for them, because we simply, cannot fight back. HuhHuh??

When one is actually working, the only benifit that can be expected is 'The Pleasure of Paying all those taxes and N.H.' -- I have alway's allowed for 33.3% stoppages and that has been about right for many Decades. The Important point being 'One's take home pay' your net income, is your purchasing power = Livable Cash. We are both Thankful, for the benifits we receive, as neither of us, could live on our own, without a lot of help. Thank God we have each other and support each when health fails.

Hi Dave, It has proven that being 'self employed' or own business, is not always best. The demerit only comes, when health or the business collapses. That is the time when you realise, to all and sundry, you don't excist. -- Hope that you are well over that and that your health, is as well as possible. I believe that you have to go in hospital soon and pray for your progress.

I note that you will be in Hospital on Thursday 11th. Feb: and trust that all will go well. It sure sounds a real big job, but I beieve that you have had, similar ops. before.
Don't know how hard it is for you to walk now, but am hoping will the progress of today, that you will have an Improvement, when the plaster finally comes off. We shall be thinking about you.

Hi Dave, That is one of the blessings, that helps keep us going. Eve and I are quite good, at making sure we take our pills, every morning. (rattle - rattle). We have laughter every day. A brilliant answer to cope with not getting out.
My operational therapist, is coming on tuesday and we are going for a walk. She wants to see how I get on with my 'four wheeler' for comfort. Huh?
