Now I have a nice garden, what should I be getting into the ground (besides horse muck) now?

I would think the best time to dig in well rotted manure would be October/November.
I would not add anything else unless I thought there was a problem, a PH test might be worth doing.

Gardening ?? No Time. Too busy looking after the bird baths and feeding them all. Now have a total of 5 squirrels sometimes and the starlings are coming back in droves. We cannot let them die for lack of food and clean water. Then there is the real entertainment, that we both receive every day. Better than those tv repeats. Must have a gardener for next year.

If you're quick Chris now is the time to plant shrubs and trees, deciduous ones anyway, I think evergreens are best left to spring in case they get frost burn although you can always wrap them up. Spring bulbs can go in now its not too late it might mean some daffs will flower a bit later but I've planted them at this time before now.
