Grew them down the side William and yes I did grow cucumbers, what do I do now so that I can grow them again next year and what was wrong with them?
[HI PAULINE, ALTHOUGH THE CUCUMBERS WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL YOUR PROBLEMS, IT IS ADVISABLE NOT TO GROW THEM WITH TOMATOES. A COLD FRAME WITH PLENTY OF MANURE UNDER THE SOIL (FOR HEAT)IS IDEAL FOR CUCUMBERS.
I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THE CAUSE OF YOUR TOM TROUBLES WERE LACK OF AIR CIRCULATION.IF YOU REMEMBER I SAID TO GROW DOWN THE MIDDLE, IF YOU GROW THEM DOWN THE SIDE,IT IS BEST TO TAKE 2 PANES OF GLASS OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE GREENHOUSE TO LET AIR CIRCULATE ROUND THE PLANTS.NEVER MIND, THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR. WE LIVE AND LEARN.

Hi Tilly, thank you, I will next year be trying my hand at cucumber and a host of other things, Potato's being one, I am going to try and grow them in buckets, so any advice would be gratefully accepted.

I dont have a vegetable patch so whatever I grow has to be either in the greenhouse or in tubs, I grew some potatoes in tubs this year they worked well, I had loads. I'm going to try growing some in bags in the greenhouse now, hopefully they will be ready for late December.

Pauline, With potatoe success, you will want to grow, twice as much for the next time. Good luck in all you do!!

I guess that now is the time to 'plan' for next year Huh
Have not been able to keep it as good as the last one.
But, have enjoyed watching the squirrel/s running around and mainly burying and eating the nuts. Natural television.

Yes certainly had a good crop, sadly all gone now, but there is always next year to look forward too. A friend has a greenhouse that she wants to get rid of, so I might have that to potter about in before too long, and then watch the green fingers come to life....(I hope).

My first dog was a collie mix, we had tomatoe plants in the yard and one day my mom gave him one. He carried it around they yard for awhile and then gave it to me. Not a single mark on it. I think he knew we were supposed to eat it and he was very careful with it and brought it to me like it was his job to bring it to me. he was so proud of himself. he was one smart boy.
