I'm from the stick it in and hope for the best school of gardening Marcella and up till now it seems to have worked.
I've just bought some seed potatoes to grow in the greenhouse (hopefully) for Christmas.

I remember my dad trying to grow mushrooms years ago, it was stated that special beds had to be set up, special soil etc etc,and after about a month nothing came so he gave up and threw the soil onto the garden border and guess what grew in about a week?...Yes the most lovely mushrooms ever and they survived the acidy soil/wind and rain!,.. hehe....

HI PAULINE, 2 THINGS. PUT YOUR POTS OUT WHEN IT RAINS, AND NOT TOO COLD,RAINWATER IS BETTER FOR THEM THAN TAP WATER.
2, DONT BE TOO DISAPPOINTED IF THEY DONT TASTE AS GOOD AS NEW TATES/. WE ARE LUCKY HERE BEING IN A FARMING AREA, WE CAN GET NEW TATES ALL YEAR ROUND.

I MARCELLA, IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR A MUSHROOM FARM, GET SOME MUSHROOM COMPOST AND SPREAD IT ON YOUR GARDEN, YOU WILL HAVE ENOUGH MUSHROOMS TO LAST YOU A LONG TIME. THE COMPOST IS USUALLY FREE.

No just been busy, my granddaughter and her partner and little boy (yes I'm a great grandmother) are buying a house so gave up their rented one (big rent) and have moved in with my youngest son til everything gets sorted, so she and my great grandson spend a lot of time here as I only live round the corner.
