We've got some grass verges along the entrance road to our Close, I've put some wild flower plugs in them. just made a hole and dropped them in. Has anyone had any luck with planting up wild flowers this way? or have I got to prepare the ground first, a major task and not something I could tackle on my own, keep your fingers crossed for me, if its successful I'll try different ones, I'm hoping it will be good for wildlife.

Hi Val; I have no experience of wild flowers, but i would think, if they are native to your part of the country and they were well watered in theres a good chance they will grow.Keep us informed.

okay, I'll take some pics of our very mini roundabout I've planted up with the colours from Help Our Hero's and the wild flower plugs are ox eye daisy and field scabious that are at the beginning of the lane. It probably won't look much this year, I couldn't afford many plugs but I'm hoping they will seed themselves and maybe add more as time goes on. I feel we should help the wildlife as everything seems to be getting built on, even if one bee can get something from it, its better than nothing. We had buckets of rain last night so thankfully I haven't needed to water, its a bit of a trek with watering cans, they get heavy.

Hi Val, Looks as though you are doing a Marvelous job, but don't let it get too much for you. The weather has been Good today and we have had a heavy day in our garden, so both are somewhat tired out.   Hope the Birds and Squirells enjoy what we have done. Huh?
