Good morning to Dalerite, Val and Heritage and everyone!

I see there are a few in this morning. I?ve just come back in from our local Community Centre Resident?s Club where we all gather for a cup of tea and a chat. The chat today was mostly about our recent coach trip out to the New Forest to see all the autumn colours. Everyone had a great time. The previous trip was to Poole Harbour in Dorset.

Next week my wife and I are driving up to Lancashire for a visit to family and friends there.

I don?t think I?ve ever logged out ? I suppose I should, really. I flit in and out that many times in between doing other things that I look on it as a bit of an inconvenience, to be truthful.

I see you live in North Wales, Heritage. Oh! The memories of holiday?s there.

Wow! The sun has appeared as I?m typing this. Great.

Hi Dalerite

We are off to Oswaldtwistle, which is next door to Accrington, and all comes under Hyndburn Borough Council.

Everyone pronounces it Ozz'old-twissle and 'Ossy' is the short, locals version.

It's a great place, very close-knit and friendly. My wife, Sheila, was born and brought up in Accrington and that's where we met.

We have lots of pals to visit in Nelson, Blackburn and Darwen.

I've missed the Good Morning but I hope the rest of the day goes well for everyone.

I am looking forward to coming back a little later to answer the posts.

Hello Dalerite. You were quite right about me 'dashing away with the smoothing iron'. There always appears to be a mound of ironing to do.

I smiled when you mistook me for a man and meant to put you right but it slipped my mind.

As for taking rugby, I know nothing. However, just to impress I logged into 'Sporting Life.Com. and here is my offering.

Former England captain Phil Vickery will retire from rugby today after conceding defeat in his battle against a neck injury.

He began his career in Bude. (I hope I got this right and it's not out of date).

A friend has just knocked the door and I have to cut this post short.  I'll finish it tonight Dalerite.

The Resident's Club sounds like a good club to be a member of.

Oswaldtwistle, Surely very old and steeped in history.

I hope you both enjoy your trip to Lancashire, next week.

No, I not a North Walian BJ, I'm further down the map.

I couldn't make out if the Oh! Meant good or bad memories Grin

Good morning all, and to you, Heritage.

The Club I mentioned is run by a committee of residents from the local Community Centre. It was set up for the more elderly residents of the area, for its nearly all sheltered accommodation here.

Our Club organises coach outings, jumble sales, f?tes, race nights, bingo sessions and basically any ideas members can come up with. We also provide a shopping service to anyone who can?t get out, for one reason or another.

If you want to see us having a good time, google ?Avon Heath Caf? | Facebook? and click on photos. You will see us all having a jolly good roast diner as part of our trip to the New Forest.

We?ve personally had some lovely adventures in North Wales. We used to go a lot on ?9.50 ?Sun? holidays, first to Pwllheli, to the old Butlin?s site just after ?Haven? took it over.

We got tired of it there and started going to ?Greenacres? in Porthmadog. The sands are fabulous there and the people of Porthmadog are much friendlier than Pwllheli, probably due to the Butlins? blight.

We stayed a couple of times in Criccieth at the George IV Hotel for week-ends. One stay was the night that Princess Diana died. The shock of first knowing of it was in our hotel room.

We?ve been all round Anglesey, to Caernarfon, Harlech, Barmouth and Dolgellau. We love Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed. But, now we live on the south coast we don?t get the chances to visit them anymore.

That's a smashing picture and I straight away turned it into an electronic jigsaw puzzle which I'm working on now.

Morning all and Rie,

Thank you for the picture. I?ve turned it into a 266-piece jig-saw and done a fifth of it so far. It?s very difficult, but I love difficult.

It?s a bright, sunny morning here in Hampshire.
