Peter, I read your blog about walking in the hills. Very interesting. However, where I live you must really be an idiot to get lost. We have walking paths marked with different symbols, so when you can read a map you can see exactly where you are. Moreover we have so-called circular routes and you only have to follow a number. At the car parking there's a huge map with all details - No. of the path, distance in km, and approx. time it will take you.

Teri theres always one who cant read !!  Grin

The 16 February 'Woman's Own' magazine has an article 'Walk  off a Stone'.  It deals with diet, a walking programm and offers a talking pedometer. So you can chat with your pedometer along the way. I have put a brief exert on my blog http://www.semiorwalkingfitnessblog.com but the article in Woman's Own gives a lot more information. It's worth having a look.

Hi Joe, It's not so much that I am doing well, there is nothing else that can be done. I am truly hoping that this problem does not creep up my legs, if the nerves are dying. I was thinking that perhaps an excercise bike may help my legs to become more supple and lighter ?? More so as neither of us get out for walks.

Sorry about the broken link. I got the Google Woops too. Go to the site suggested by Google and you get there. Looks like the link is broken between this site and mine. My site is okay on Google.
Don't you just love technology?

I've just posted another article on my site. About Nordic walking or pole walking. Not to be confused with pole dancing which is completely different. I wrote about it a while ago and, to my surprise, a lot of people were interested. You just walk with two poles, a bit like skiing without the skis. It is less hard work than normal walking and exercises more muscles.
Seems like a good idea, if you can ignore rude comments from people who see you do it.

Have seen these on a Tv programme and those walkers looked quite comfortable. A great idea if one needs a little help.

Mac, Have been sitting here with a ciggy, looking at Your last post, for about 5 mins: It's got me thinking!! Could Nordic Walkers, possibly help me. Must get out this year and Walking over Grass, will be a 'No Go' with my three wheeled walker. Nordic walkers, propel forwards and could perhaps stop one falling backwards(as with my balance)-- Seems it does have possibilities, but don't know how to find out?? But I will ask somebody!!
