The Great TV Debate
«

I much prefer my PC to a TV. The main reasons are -
1. There are too many murders every day that we must witness in the name of entertainment, turning it into such a common occurance as to make it almost acceptable to murder.
2. American Mills & Boon type TV films are so sickly sweet that they make me cringe.
3. News programs are never about the UK, but only the rest of the world. There's nothing wrong with knowing what's happening around the world but not to the exclution of our national news.
4. Sensational TV journalism is so rife. There are so many scandels which are pounced on by the TV media and milked for all they are worth.
5. New good comedy is very scarce. Sport is scarce unless you can afford Sky TV.
Is TV going the way of Cinemas?
I can chat to people on my PC!
I can read a book on my PC!
I can do a jigsaw on my PC!
I can watch a film or TV program on my PC!
I can listen to my favouite music or radio station on my PC!
What do I need to put a TV
on
for?

Ah!! Barry, Could not Agree more!! Is this a sign of getting olde
like us ??
Why does murder and crime have to be the highlight of our lifes infomation?? As for The news?? while talking about the far east, there is not much time to talk about our own problems -- of which there are many!! As for the so called comedy ?? What a joke!! can you really have a good 'belly laugh' as we used too, NO!! it's mostly slapstick!!
Don't forget?? This is progress = Yuk!!
We are of the 'Older Generation' that have known Quality!!

Who said I didnt listen?
?? Pardon???
Yes TV is getting really bad, and as someone says MURDER is becoming the accepted thing both on TV and in real life.
My opinions may differ from others, but am I mistaken when I state that TV is being taken over by the Gays and the ethnic minorities?? Every time I switch the thing on there is a coffee colored person reading the news, or in charge of the Childrens programs, and every soap thats on there is at least one limp wristed gay strutting its stuff!!! Or is it just me?

Hi Chris,it isnt being taken over by anyone, its the powers that be who do the programs.
Gay or not gay i am sick of Little Britain and two pints of lager, and the dam soaps ! sorry to all of you who watch soaps I find them boring and not true to life in anyway except when the girl of 13 in corrie had a baby and it was acceptable.......I stopped watching it then, and she had another at 16
? I give up.
Murder, incest, fornication, etc etc do we need it in our faces.
NO I AM NOT A PRUDE

Hi Mac, and of course Hi to every-one else. Yes Mac you are correct in what you say, "Dont need it in our faces". I hate all of the soaps, but my good lady loves them so when she is here the box is switched on. When she is out the plug comes out of the socket.
I hate being force fed PC rubbish, and being educated into the rights that criminals etc have over the rights of good honest citizens.
