We hear too often these days of the youth causing grief out on the Streets, even killing each other.

What is missing from society that makes these youngsters think that they can get away with it?

And what can the Government/Local Councils do to regain some order back into Society?

The Gov.. can make a start by bringing back capital and corporal punishment. The kid glove treatment hasnt worked.

Hi William, Well said. Many of us would agree, as nothing at present really works. How many times have we seen, criminals have been brought before the courts that have previously 'commited' so many crimes -- and not paid the penalty to The Victims ?? -- so quite naturally, go out and commit more crimes, to fill their needs !!  Why does the government, give the criminals so many more chances ?? -- Plus the fact that so many, in jail, are being released very early Huh
The life inside must be so Good?? they want to go back inside ?? it has been tried to re-educate the criminals, but just does not work. Something more 'drastic' must be introduced!!

Boot Camps or Borstal ??  Whatever will actually Work, to Stop young people committing crime. How about The Victims ?? one never hears about Them??  How do they get over being a Victim, when all the help goes to The Criminals Huh?? What happened To Human Rights for The Victims??  Criminals should be made to Forfeit all rights and Compensate The Victims!!
Why Do You Think, The Criminals are so eager, to get back into Jail --- they know that most are released too early!!

Make parents responsible
we respected our parents and nice kids of today do too.
Note the word parent`S not parent,it should be a join thing.
Alas...........only one parent ! and the other will disagree, the kid is  quick to pick up on this and wham bam !
Got away with it again.
Also give teachers more authority.
Its not about what is missing it is what is lacking, love trust, and diciplin is all you need.

Mac, I'm of the same opinion as you. I think parents should learn that they have a responsability toward their children. Many parents can't no longer say "no" to their children. Children must learn that there are limits they have to respect.
I have been giving private lessons for nearly twenty years and I must say children have enormously changed.

Phoenix, in Germany we say it has to do with our standard of living - you know when we were young our parents didn't have the money to fulfill all our wishes. Then my generation tried it, so the generation of today's parents no longer knows what it means to have to do without something. When they have children they realise that they should have to do with the one or other thing, but they don't want to - we say they are the so-called "claiming" generation - they expect that everybody does his utmost that they feel satisfied. So they expect that you and me and all the others in a certain way look after their offsprings. German teachers say they don't feel in charge of correcting the faults in education made by parents - parents say school has to educate their children - so you see no one feels responsible and some children just behave not in the way society expects them to do.

True - if you always have what you want to have, you aren't prepared to accept that you have to do without it.
