The best food I know for warming the insides is toast with honey and cinnamon. Its a real comfort warming treat for this time of year and it also tastes yummy.Give it a try.

Hi Pheonix I have been on a gluten-free diet for five years now, I do get some things on prescription but it's only the basic stuff. I tend to make my own bread but it's nowhere near as nice as the proper bread , thats why I'm positively salivating at the things you lot are talking about Tongue

I am very lucky in as much that I can eat and drink whatever I like, and I love experimenting in the kitchen.

Yesterday my wife had taken a container of mince out of the freezer, and said "what can you do with that",,,yes I nearly told her, but it was still frozen!!!!

Anyway I sliced a couple of good sized onions up and a punnet of mushrooms. Fried the onions and mushrooms until tender then added the mince. then a teaspoon of mild curry powder, fresh crushed galic and some tomato puree, then two oxo cubes, teaspoon of marmite, simmered the lot until cooked. Turned out into a large pie dish and then covered when cool with flaky pastry, bang it through the oven at 200c untill pastry was golden brown, then bashed out onto plates with boiled pots and fresh veg.

Babies cleared their plates and so did the other half, I had the pie cold later on with cold pots, and I enjoyed every mouth full, cost ?3.00p to feed four of us, cant be bad!

I make my own pies Phoenix, although because OH likes puff pastry I do buy the frozen one and just roll it out. I always make 2 large pies, one for the freezer, so I get an easy day one week.Although I've a feeling we might have half the forces (okay, I exaggerate) descend on us this weekend so we'll probably use up the contents of the freezer.  Grin
