Not Dead Yet - Forum

I've actually managed to root some clem cuttings this year for the first time. I try every year with little or no success. This time I put some water retaining jell in the pot and left the compost very loose around the cuttings. Anyone else have any luck or any tips about cuttings?

Hi Val,you were lucky to get your cuttings to root,(i mean that most kindly), there are so many different kinds, some flower early, some late,some need pruning, others dont.I am not a flower expert, just what I learned from my late wife

I think with layering its sometimes more successful but of course you have to wait longer and the dogs always seem to dislodge anything I've anchored the stem with.

That'autumn'feeling is closing in fast, as the nights are getting darker and there is little work we can do outside. We have today, finished pruning the bushes, at last. Now I guess will soon be planning any changes for next year.
 Has anyone decided to make any change to their garden ??

Sadly Phoenix I live in a flat, now called appartments !!!
all I have is a few tubs,but I do have daffs and tulips in them  !

Nothing major but I'm always taking out plants in the wrong place and moving them or even binning them if they haven't performed well.

Hello Mac, Don't feel 'sad'-- 'Daffs' and 'Tulips' are really 'Fab' flowers and you do have something 'living'-- There are also some very lovelly indoor plants one can buy, we have a few and I buy my Eve, fresh Flowers every few weeks. They sure 'cheer' one up!!

Hi Val, As long as you enjoy what you do!! So we all make a few mistakes in our garden ?? -- What with all those 'pests' can we wonder at it?? At least we do get satisfaction from it all -- I hope ??  Keep up the good work and be Happy !!
