I post a message and when I return to the forum later I can never find it!! I also have trouble remembering how to find " new topic " to post on the forum.Its making my tiny brain hurt ;D ;D

Mmmm seems we have some confusion here.... the best way I've found to find which area to post your message in is

Step 1. click on forums in nain menu column down the left hand side of the page

step 2 this will bring up a list of subjects ( example quizes and games, debate, general discussion jokes etc. choose the one you want , for instance the cricket posting really needed to go in gereral Discussion and Kes's joke needed to go in the jokes forum .

3 once you have got the section up look for a line that will show up in red ink, if you are in the General discussion area it will read like. Not dead yet-forum-senior topics-general discussion, click on this and if you look around you'll see  new topic just click on that...i must abit i had difficulty when i first started here...
another tip, if you want to find answers to you post look out for the line replys to your posts

The easy way is to posat your message and then click on Favourites and then "Add to Favourites"   .... works fine as long as you don't forget where on the screen "Favourites" is. Could always matk it with Tipex!!

Being 'Fair' to one's self, is not always Easy!! bearing in mind, that as a Senior Citizen. The Computer that sits on our shoulders, must be somewhat --- Overloaded !!

Why do we have dishwashers, Phoenix?

Mechanical Dishwashers ??  No Idea!!  It is a simple job, I never object, it has to be done!!

We have dish washers becasue we can afford them
absolutely no need for them at all..........we got the guy`s  ;D

What lucky English girls, German guys buy their girls quickly a dishwasher doing their job in the kirchen.

Dishwasher's Yuk!!  Don't the Girls want to get their Hands WET ??? --- One has to open the Door, Stack the Dishes etc: - Start the machine?? When Finished, open the Door and Take out Dishes etc:: ---------
Takes much more time ??  Look Out?? Let me get at Them??

I never dry the dishes, wash them, then rinse them and let them dry in the rack. More hygienic that way.

William, that depends - in Germany they make tests, i.e. pupils discuss with people in senior homes and as far as I learnt both sides are very happy.
When reading books about history I realised that - although we always complain - we still live under pleasant conditions compared to the conditions ruling in the Middle Age or earlier.
When my grandmother talked to me about her childhood and youth I couldn't imagine it, but now that I'm older it's much easier to understand it.

When we talk of hard times,we are very lucky, compared to w

hat our parents and gparents lives were like.
it is good that your children visit and talk to the elderly.

Teri, Thereby hangs a tail ??  Due to a worn Disc in my Neck, which has 'Trapped' a Nerve??  My left hand is not as it should be.  My two last fingers are almost knumb, sometimes I have to ask my Eve to do up, or undo shirt buttons.. Shoe laces??  Forget it!! I sure do have to Laugh about it, when having a 'struggle' -- Well, what else can I do ????

Phoenix, as you said to me "enjoy every day", you are right, we must enjoy every day - look around you for enjoying the sunshine we do neither need hands nor feet and as for me, a bright sunshine lifts my spirits enormously!

I agree we should enjoy every day but sometimes things go wrong, then it is not easy.Then we have to make the best of things.

Hello William,  I do agree with that, in having 7 years on my own (20 years ago)- visitors would look in,to see if ok.
 But when they have gone, just a short while after. The world closes in ---- and yes, one feels more lonely than ever. My peaceful time was at night. Music playing, Lights Out and me in my rocking chair. - That is the short version:

But don't you sometimes feel relieved if your visitors have gone and all was realling going like a clockwork and you can now have some moments for yourself, just to let the hours, day or weekend pass again before your eyes?
Over Christmas I had a so-called full house and before Christmas I was so nervous and asking myself, will all be o.k., then I enjoyed the time with my visitors, but when they were gone I first made a hot cup of tea and sat in my armchair just to relax a little bit after that "stress".

I BELIEVE THAT WE ALL 'SUFFER IN SILENCE' WITH THE PREPARATION AND GIVE A 'SIGH OF RELIEF' WHEN OVER AND CAN SITDOWN AND RELAX WITH A 'CUPPA' ??

Teri, Smoking Unhealthy??  There are far worse bad habits and customs. I enjoy a Cigarette and will continue, as I have for the last 19 years!! -- I frown on all the comments about 'passive' smoking and am quite sure that I could find fault with 'non smokers too!!
 Everybody has fault of one kind or another and we all stand to be critised --- for something?? --- Me?? I just let people do what they want to do with their life, as long as 'they' leave me and mine ---- Alone !!

My father was a strong smoker and died of asthma due to his excessive smoking - so I perhaps have another view on this subject. However, as long as you feel comfortable it's up to you to continue or as we say in Germany "it's not my beer".

It really was, quite natural for 'our parents' to Smoke and Drink!!-- when our wounded soldier's came back from Dunkirk -- The first thing Given was a Ciggy and Tea??
 A lot of people did smoke then, why should they not??

I don't know the song you are speaking of - I'm more the classical type - but I can assure you it's good to still be able to count one's blessings (have still the capability of doing it). One of my former collegues got pills after her cacer operation that rendered her incapable of finishing a sentence - in the middle of the sentence she didn't know any longer what she was speaking of - it was terrible for her.

I only have a few taken during the summer season and printed onto A4 photo: paper. -- When able to understand just how to send smaller photo's as you and othere's have done in our gallery, I shall be most pleased to share, as you have done for me. --- Another problem to achieve??

Have just gone to all pictures again with No Faults??

I just uploaded some photos of Hamburg - that's no problem, but I can't look at the photos, there's only a square with a red cross in it and no picture (it's all written in German), perhaps only you UK- NDY members can look at the photos. I'm at a loss. When I started on the forum I could look at the photos, but lately no longer!!!!! So what's the problem? Can anyone tell me?

Teri, I did have a problem similar to your's  with a square and it's red cross. Together with no visualisations in windows media. had to get a man in and has been ok for quite some time now. -- Other than that?? It might be your Firewall stopping the picture showing???
