Gotta keep a weather eye, open. There are times when the sun is shining early, only for the clouds to come over about a hour later. All those 'well laid plans' scuppered' ??

 ive not been on much today , had the pointing done on the  damp course , so was suppling cups of tea ,

 set the garden swing up and put the table and bench out also , now the weather forcast says its going to get cold again ,I  dug a flower bed over as well , so ive had a busy day

We could almost say it's Fun, the way these showers keep playing with us. It can be nice and cool, then the showers stop and the Sun comes out and Phew?? it gets a little too warm, as I found this morning again. -- In, out, in, out ??
it's not so easy trying to play 'catchup' with the jobs. Lol!

 i think the showers  have been all over , at least its good for the garden ,

 i dont like it too hot my self , prefer spring and autumn best ,
 70 , suits me when the tempreture gets  in the 80s  i wilt , :)

Guess most areas have has their share. Can't stand any heat, the humidity makes me just feel sticky -- not healthy and wears me out --- trying to work.   Phew!!

Sure started off well. Went to the chiropodist this morning and came back, full of vim (almost) ?? So decided to start pressure washing a patio ( slow work) Got the bigger half done before stopping for coffee and ciggy -- Then Lo and behold, our 'resident' Doves arrived, that put a stop to the work. (Too soft to make them go away)-- Two hours later, Doves still here, so I had to start work again and the pressure washer sent them away. (Boo Hoo)?? Had too otherewise I would have not got so much done, before putting all the equipment away. Hope to continue tomorrow to finish and start on the second one. -- If I still have the energy. T'is nice to see a clean patio. Lol!

Just shows that more and more people, are reverting back to growing their own Veggies. Plus that one does not need a lot of space. can grow in Pots, Hanging baskets and growbags etc; -- Hopefully we shall be starting soon.

Its been a weird old day, now the daylight is on its way out the sun decides to shine, We took the dogs over to Canterbury by the uni, to walk them just for a change.I don't think we'll be doing that again in a hurry. Our Monty decided that being a Jack Russell was fun, he went half way down a bank covered in brambles and decided to start digging in some holes, they looked too big for rabbit holes but might've been. We had such a time trying to get him, he disappeared from view a couple of times then popped his head up like a meercat to look at us but he wouldn't come, Frank tried to get him one way I went the other, I just saw his backside sticking up and managed to reach and grab him, little monkey, he went on the lead then. It was not a good morning here I put the washing on the line and the dam thing snapped !!!! washing all over the place and full of black bits.
I went to ask my mate Paddy to fix it and he was in a state of `the morning after the night before` he was out drinking till 3.30am he said,with his nephew Seamus from Ireland.
Paddy fell and Seamus fell trying to pick him up !!! :D I think this happened more than once  ::)
Paddy got a cut nose and cut hands and Seamus banged his head and his elbow and his backside !!! :D
What a silly pair,and Seamus will go back to Ireland and tell them all what a lovely time he had huh !!

Afternoon all ,had a busy morning cleaning up after builders who are in the final stages of completing our building work , be glad when they have finished

What a Great Day it has been. One car gone and another car in and the big one goes tomorrow. Lawns been mowed and trimmed and garden rubbish disposed of. Three lots of visitors, at different times and even now, just getting to relax, with a stiff Brandy I might add. Been worth it ::) ::)

Well another bank holiday upon us, much walking to be done with the Children, hope your all having a good one !!!! ;)

Cath, No Excuses acceptable, although I too sometimes, don't see much to answer too. The Birds here are 'singing' madly ?? I think because we have No Fatballs left == they have gone through ten packets of six, in one week. getting a little expensive now and was thinking of 'cutting down' the amount, we put out daily ?? This afternoon was pandimonium with so many birds 'complaining' so we put out more seed, bread and nuts. Then some squirells arrived and the fun started. We almost forgot about TV. But was worth it.

Hello to those that have been in the Forum today.
This morning was 'shirt sleeve order' for a change. A beautiful start to the day --- Then the clouds came rolling in, so gardening was 'postponed'-- rain kept away so ok.
Tomorrow should be the best day, so hopefully will have a chance to get some gardening done. (before it gets Too Hot).
lets see how it goes.

All that has been here is mostly rain rain and more rain,infact I went outside to see if it would make me grow,but nope,still 4 foot 11 and a very vital half!.. :D

Marcella, Don't Worry about your height etc: My Partner is now 4.11 and has lost a lot of weight due to her illnesses, so she cannot do much work etc: Eve is waiting yet again for a scan etc: I wish they could find something AND Cure it, she has had enough of probing.

Yes that is the worst part about being ill,the weight loss,I was never big,mainly between 8 and a half stone,but now I am under 7,this is due the tum problems I have been having and other bits and bobs,so hopefully once this next operation has been done the weight should climb again,in the mean time any donations of cakes and choccies will be very gratefully recieved!... ;D

Hi Marcella, Could be that you have similar health problems, that my Eve has, Her weight is holding about 6st. 10lbs. -- We know there is no permanent cure, we just Hope they get no worse. Eating is not easy for her, as she is never hungry, but in spite of it all, we get bye.
Try to keep happy and don't overdo any work.

I am sorry to hear that Eve is going through all this,and another scan too,hopefully the doctors will finally get to the bottom of it and help her!.
Mine is caused with scar tissue and adhesions that came from operations etc since the crash,so quite often the bowel twists due to this and then the sickness start and any weight I have gained before that goes instantly,plus it is very painful too,and cause dehydration!..

I recall you saying that you was in a car crash,although I cannot recall just how long ago it was. Eve's problems come from operations and births, making for scar tissues, causing later trouble. Pain is always there, so we just don't go out except for shopping, in case we have to rush back home. This has happened. In spite of both our problems, we do manage to keep happy. Well one has too, or ????? == We just accept it all part of Old Age ??

I am now counting my blessings as apart from the odd twinge of Arthritis and my Coeliacs I dont ail a thing,I'm very lucky.

Oh dear we are never happy with our weight are we,I am on the large side,so I get no peace at all from the doctor,but I have to say I would rather be like I am than too thin,because I know why I am large but when you are very slim its usually problems.

 Sorry cath , now i told you yesterday on tother forum i went to Spalding , we went further  in the midlands today to Derby where we met up with some friends, i had such an embarassing time keeping my skirt from blowing up , it was so windy , till finally after a lot of fffing and blinding i went  to Next clearance and bought a pair of slacks  ,  then it was  a quick change in the nearest loos ,  its been a nice sunny day dry but Bl***y windy.Going somewhere good at the weekend ,  and hope to have lots of pics to put up , and it involves Dancing .  Dont know whats to do tomorrow, as long as its dry, and i shall see which way the winds blowing before i set foot out side , lol .

Hello Phoenix , ive just got back , it was at Thorpe Camp Tattersall, next to Coningsby,  got some pics to put up on the pic thread , the weather stayed good all day  and we had the Lancaster Fly over twice,
Plenty of folks were dressed in 40s clothes as we were and a lot in uniforms , and of course Mr Churchill was there a s he mostly is , and he gave his  wartime speech , i also had a nice chat with him .

My next door neighbour had her family here about a month ago, and as much as she loved them all being with her it took her a week to get back to normal!....

Hi Tilly, Was a lovelly couple of hours at The Classic Meeting this morning. I did take my camera, with all good intentions, but was soo busy that I never took any 'shots'--
The cars were really wonderful and the people, magnificent!!
was a little hard to walk over the grass, but luckily eve's brother came to 'support' me. Not a Shot?? I just could not believe it ??

Hi Pauline, Your Brother, must be a wonderful Guy with his Classic car interests. Pristine condition all. Took me me back to the cars I had owned. Strange as it was?? This 'meet' was the 116th. I went two years ago --only. So!! Have put the date, first sunday in August 2010 !!

 rain , but it didnt put families off going with the little ones , and there was about 200 hundred sitting outside watching Mamma Mia in a open air cinema lol,Saturday night was a better night , Dancing again ;) and fireworks to finish off :)

Has been a nice morning, sunny for a change. Did some pruning, the laurel bush has got somewhat Big ?? then cleaned the two bird baths and re filled of course, can't have the Birds complaining ??  Eve did the washing and with good timing ?? we had coffee and a ciggy on the patio -- what pleasure. Hi Pauline, Guess it comes under the heading of -- Work Lol!! We have two bird baths. One large plastic = easy to tip out. One concrete = Tip out.  Then Work ?? This means, Scrubbing Hard, with a stiff hand brush, untill Clean Phew???- Algae etc: seems to Cling to both materials. I only use Stiff handbrush and plain water. -- When physically Tired ??  Top up with Clean water. Should be a 'simple' job ?? But sure is tiring to do both. ???? (LOL!!) But our Birds Must have Clean water -- Eveen if they Don't appreciate it, think of the Er?? Self satisfaction of doing a Good job --- Phew!! When you see the Doves and Pidgeons having a 'soak' you know you have done ---- Well!!    Good Luck!!  and   Lol!!

Lol Marcella, you have just remimded me of my brothers wedding , when i went over to speak to his wifes brother and mum ,  the way you have just discribed   the muscles on your nieghbour  was what i had actualy said to this man his muscles stood out and i just leaned over and sqeezed his arm  and said wow  and rambled on how id not seen muscles like that on a man before, and did he work out , lol , I was lead away by my new sister in law,   i think she thought i had  said enough,

I have been off and done some retail therepy today,made me feel good.
Yesterday morning Paddy lost the little dog he is minding,we spent hours and hours looking for her.
She was in one of the neighbours beds with the neighbour  :D
The neighbour is an elderly lady and a little confused,the carer let the dog in by mistake she thought the dog was hers ;D!
Alls well that ends well i suppose.

Phoenix  ive had problems with my router over the last couple of days , so ive had difficulty putting a pic on,, was putting a fresh one up lol
Bought a new router only to find it was the wrong one so got to take it back , until then it these only 8) 8) 8) 8)

Last night I got a virus thingy on my laptop and now it says 'Access Denied'...It will be sorted very soon I hope as that is all I have used since recovery, as I sit with cushions on my couch with it, so I am at this moment on my biggy 'puter, but it hurts to sit straight!....
I will pop on when I can though until my laptop is fixed!...

A Good Morning, only starts when one's computer, is all Happy ??? What are you using to clean your comp: to eradicate Spyware and Viruses ?? -- I keep both of mine nice and clean and have several programmes to do this, plus a good defrager and "wicked Kipper" to clean out ALL the rubbish!!

I have got AVG thingy,....hehe...Think it is called AVG antispyware, and also I have 'Superantispyware!..

I had a big virus invade my laptop so I did the 'System Restore, taking it back to the 3rd July!...

AND!...hehe!..I do de-frag and Disc clean up regularily!....
I have written this somewhere else here this evening, hehe!...

Im going to the Hospital on Monday , i had a sudden loss of sight in one eye on Thursday , optision phoned  for an appointment right away as she said theres something going off at the back of my eye,

My eyesight in my right eye as improved since last Thursday ,  the visit to Hospital lasted all afternoon , had several test , eyedrops they put in , think it was to dilate the eye , i was told a vein leading to my eye collapsed, im to see a Retina eye surgeon , see if a cyst is there ,  ive still got a small round shadow  that covers some not all of my Macular , small print i cannot see , large i can , but my good eye is making up for this ,  So its not too much of a problem ,

No operation untill they get Very BAD ?? Does not drive now, so we go shopping together. Cannot see just why they cannot operate Before one goes Blind ?????   Take Care and wish you well.

I know I make light of things sometimes but I get really upset with some of the things that happen out here in Civi Street. I will give you a for an example:

Wednesday night our Pump on the heating system went down.

On Thursday I phone the housing Association and reported it.

At about 4pm a man came to fix it. Sadly he didnt have the valves that are situated each side of the pump.

He said he would get on the phone and get someone to come out later with the right fittings and it would be working  by the end of the day!

Hello I said, look why must it be fixed today?

He said " you have Children under the age of 10 years of age.

I said that a night without heat would not kill them!

He said, its the law mate it has to be done.

Cut a long story short I was not going to have workmen in my house whilst my Children were asleep. Job was fixed on Friday.

If they (the system) can make laws for the young, why cant they make the laws for the elderly and make sure they are warm throughout the winter months??? Its not even winter yet and they are worried about Children getting cold!!! Good God who makes these rule up??? Bring back Jack Frost on the window panes!!! What say you???
